Welcome to my blog Upstate Girl, (a.k.a Follow Your Bliss Part II), I am an independently published author. This blog is all about writing and the stuff that inspires me to write, the joys and obstacles that come along with the writer's life, and my fascination with the psychology of people and what makes them tick...the human condition, as is...and my love for words, playing with them and making sense of them...and I throw in a few photos from my acre of the world just to make things pretty...sometimes there are things I have no words for, only pictures will do.

First Snow October 16, 2009

There's something magical about the generous sugar coating of the first snow that I stepped into at dawn...

A wee pink stripe in the sky...

More looking north, northwest...I'm glad I wasn't over there, it looks a bit scary...

I have a head cold, and have been at home in bed doctoring myself for the last two days...I sort of feel like how this pitiful flower looks...

Ah, but this one wore it's snow so prettily!

As did this snow-capped bunch!

Yes, it's cold...but not too terrible...the snow was gone before noon, like it was never there...

I especially like the image of the Queen Anne's Lace one. It is very romantic and nostalgic.

Thank you for sharing these photographs with us. Have a wonderful weekend.

Loved tip toeing around your yard with you witnessing the first snow fall. I only saw ours from the window as my broken ankle has hindered my tip toeing. Amazing how completely it was gone! To my relief actually!

Now, as your Mother would say, what were you doing out there with a head cold and taking those pictures?
The photos are wonderful. You have a knack with beautiful photos.
what happens to the flowers? Do they just wilt?
Being a California creature, my experience of snow is limited.
You take care of yourself.

I wrote a book about my dad which I'd like to self-publish. Can you point me toward a trustworth company?

The snow looks beautiful but I think I'd better stay here in South Florida.

Thanks
