Yup, this is yet another blog venue for my creativity...as if I'm not busy enough blogging at Publishers Marketplace every day, and once a week at my art blog Follow Your Bliss, and then hit or miss blog entries at my Myspace space, Laurajw dot what ever...good grief...
This one is going to be about the author part of me...the funny part of me...separate from my artist part...oy, like I have a multiple personality disorder...I work a full time job, make art, and write books...I'm a mom, a wife, I have a needy dog and five cats, I have a green thumb that has caused gardens to sprawl all over my acre lot, and I have an old farmhouse that is a work in progress...and I have Fibromyalgia, arthritis, degenerative disk disease in my neck, AND perimenopause...I'll probably bitch about every stupid ache and pain bothering me...I promise you that I will cut loose here and blurg my blog about the WHATEVER in life...a slightly darker side...like my writing, my books, they're not cuddly things, although there are warm and fuzzy moments, but the fiction prickles with reality...
Indeed, Upstate Girl is a play on the Billy Joel song Uptown Girl (a catchy little tune), but as far as what that has to do with my being a writer...well, it has nothing to do with it other than the fact that I am not that kind of New Yorker, I'm an unconnected writer, I'm up in the hills, out in the boonies of Upstate New York...when I'm in Manhattan, I'm one of those poor dolts who walk around looking up with my mouth hanging open...I'm in awe of life...in one breath I'm in awe of humanity, but in the next breath I'm screaming WHAT WERE YOU THINKING YOU STUPID HUMANS!!!!
Enough said for now...my dinner is ready and the Democrats are getting ready to elect the next president of the United States...let's give it up to Barak Obama!!!
Four more months, four more months, four more months, four more months, four more months, four more months, four more months, four more months, four more months, four more months, four more months, four more months...
